I was loved

Once, I was loved.

Papers curled up
at the edges, saturated
with it. My heart

burst at the seams
to encase it all. Once, I too

was overjoyed. I danced
in the streets when I ran,
one foot to each sidewalk slab.

Once, each ring was a smile,
once, my thoughts were airy
with a name. Once is coming again.

Oh, please come again.

  1. So beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time.

  2. Mmmm, I agree.

And then a bit of hope there at the end.

    Pretty amazo slynne.

  3. Thank you both.

the hope, it seems, was unwarranted, though.
